CCWS Sponsors a M.E. "Mike" Bailey, AWS/NWS Watercolor Classroom Workshop on February 20, 21 & 22 , 2020 in Nipomo, CA.


The goal of the workshop is to initiate painters to some vital design skills, such as using texture, pattern and value structure to elevate your subject matter.  His workshop will focus on the creation of composition combined with lots of visual excitement over the 3 day workshop. Each artist will learn to develop their ability to create interesting value schemes and stimulating textures to help make their paintings have greater visual impact. 

His work is held in private and corporate collections throughout the USA, Europe and Australia.
Energetic, positive,  Mike can often be found plein air painting near where he lives on the coast in Santa Cruz, California (near San Francisco) with his lovely wife, Diana.

Mike is nationally noted for his innovative teaching skills in the subject of Design and Composition as well as his mastery of the watercolor medium. His workshop, “Watercolor Beyond the Obvious” began as a university level class at the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1999, which has morphed into a career teaching workshops all over the USA and Europe.

Mike's work has been published in Northlight books, “Splash,” “Watercolor” and “Watercolor Artist” Magazines and has garnered awards from national and international painting societies along the way.  He is a member of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, a signature member of American Watercolor Society (AWS) and is past president of and a signature member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS).
